On October 18th, over 250 parents and students participated in Literacy Night at Sherman Elementary in San Francisco. Besides read-aloud in the library; students made paper crane, played word games, received free books and more. BookPALS William Hall, Teresa Roberts, Malcolm Grissom, Martin Ganapoler and Carla Hatley presented a reading of "The Crane Wife." The whole evening was a great success.

As the Screen Actors Guild Foundation awarded the Patron of the Arts Award to mega-producer Jerry Weintraub at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala, actors Bruce Willis and Elliott Gould honored both the producer and the Foundation's BookPALS effort.
