Do you get enough opportunities to practice all of your creative skills? Now you have a chance to use your voice, body and imaginative skills and work in front of the most appreciative audience you'll ever have — children! BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools) is a SAG Foundation volunteer program with the essential goal of helping children to read and write, by having professional artists like you read aloud to children in our urban elementary school classrooms. Who better to bring a story to life than an actor?

Reading ability is directly linked to success in school and life. But many kids don't have someone to read aloud to them. You can be that person and star in their lives. All it takes is one hour a week for 12 weeks and you can truly make a difference..

Help children experience the magic of books and develop a love of reading! Members of SAG, AFTRA and EQUITY are all eligible to become BookPALS.
