Gator
Written by Randy Cecil, illustrated by
Recommended Ages: K-2
Gator relished his position on the carousel, but he loved hearing the sound of laughter. However, the amusement park was becoming obsolete, and there was less and less laughter to be heard. So one day, Gator leaves his post in order to begin a necessary quest for laughter. Sadly, he finds his adventure to be a lonely one. (There is a hole in his chest from where the pole used to be.) Soon Gator finds himself near a zoo. (He heard laughter.); but the alligators frightened him--so he exits the zoo. Although once again misplaced, a father recognizes Gator. As a result of this recognition, Gator is able to lead people back to the amusement park. Gator returns to his post...and the sound of laughter is heard once again.
