I was looking for an online story so my kindergarten students could get an idea of nonprint materials vs. print materials. I let Pamela Reed do my storytime for me. The kinders LOVED the story and the format and "watching" storytime from the computer. Thanks for this most wonderful service that you all are providing!! Most excellent!!

This site makes a great listening center. Somedays the students go through this site in groups of 5-6, other times I let the whole class listen to a story. I was thrilled to see a new story, "Stellaluna". I hope you get many more! Thanks!

I teach spec. ed. classes, but I am also a parent. I use story line online to students voice inflection and to model good, fluent reading. They think it is fun. My daughter enjoys listening to the stories and she is only two years old. I like having good quality material for her to view on the internet!!!

I am a college student who will be completing my internship in January.
This is my first visit. I love that the story is read with expression but at a slow enough pace to read along with. I would be interested in sharing the site with parents and students in the future.
I watched Thank You Mr. Falker, and though I had read the story before, Jane Kaczmarek, brought tears to my eyes when she read it with such expression.
I will visit the site again and will share it with many others.
Thank you,
Vicki Laster

Hi , Just want to say how much we love your stories. I'm in Australia and I am so impressed that this great site offers free, educational entertainment - thankyou. My grade can hear different voices and accents and hear expression and intonation from someone other than myself. This helps the children to read with expression and aids their comprehension as they're more likely to remember what they have read. Carol - Corio, Victoria Australia.

I saw this ad in a magazine and decided to try it with my 2 year old daughter. I usually have to keep her occupied while I'm on the computer. This time we could do something together. She loved it, and sat through the entire story. When it was finished she said "I want another story." Thanks for making her day!

I love your site. I even listen to the stories myself prior to reading them to the class. I just discovered another story that will tie in with my reading unit that I am going to have the students listen to in a center rotation. The actors do a great job of reading the stories. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for such a wonderful program. Not only do I use this program as part of my language arts curriculum, but I also included a link to your site when I wrote the county's language arts curriculum lessons/guide. Thank you for realizing the need for real people reading books to children - not just cartoon versions. Your generous site is helping make my teaching more relevant for my students. Thanks!

I can say with complete confidence that this is one of the best sites on the entire internet. I love the site and my kids love the site. I use it and allign it with my state standards and incorporate during ELA (English/Language Arts)reading block time. This site is top-notch. Only thing is I would like clearer picture when viewing full screen.

This is a wonderful site and we are always looking for new and exciting ways to introduce storytime to children so we will be using this site again. It is exciting as well to see actors that are recognizable to the children as it makes them feel special that the actor took the time to read a story to them. great job

I love this site because we use children's picture books all the time to teach reading strategies to the class. The kids enjoy hearing good books by good authors being read by famous people they recognize. It keeps them focused on the story and gives them the chance to use the story to practice strategies such as inferencing, connecting, and analyzing character.

What a fantastic site!!! I am a special education teacher (Sept. to June)and also work as a speech therapist during the summer months. This site was very helpful in presenting a story to my students in a different modality. It helped them to focus on the task at hand without realizing they were actually working! I also developed additional activities to assist with comprehension and writing. The stories really lent themselves well to doing that. Thank you for this most valuable site. At a time in which we have to be as fiscally conservative as possible in the public school system, it is nice to know that we have excellent alternatives to educate and entertain our students. I can't wait to pass along the website to my colleagues!

I am the computer technology teacher and instruct all students in grades K - 5 in the course of the week. (Total 210 students) The site helps me to help the classroom teachers support their curriculum. I find it most valuable for those students who struggle with the printed word and we have many that fall into that group. The activity sheets are extremely helpful as I share them with the classroom teachers also. Please keep up the site.

This site is great! Thanks so much for your time helping children to read. Many of my students parents work at night and are not able to read much with their children. This is a great solution to my problem of trying to get children to read more and having an adult to help them with the words, using expression when they read, comprehension, and their fluency rate.

Oak Park School for severly handicapped k-12+. This is a high school class. Really enjoy your presentation every day along with kids. Comprehension is very low so we repeat stories over and over. Kids recognize actors and Mr. Gore. Looking forward to new stories like Mr Hatch, Gordon Winnefred and Private I Guana. Kids ask for stories on computer everyday.

I am a media specialist at a residential school for boys. We are a special education school and many of our students have difficulty reading. I encourage them to use many different types of media to read or listen. I was going through the September issue of Nick JR. and saw this site and thought I would like to try it. What a gem! It seems there are so many good things which come out of partnership with Verizon which promotes literacy. Of course, I am always interested in that.
Thank you for this site and I am going to post it on our internal webpage for the school to use.
