Read Across America 2004 and 2005, celebrated Dr. Seuss' 100th and 101st birthday. BookPALS readers read in their schools and participated in special events around the state. BookPAL Gene Ganssle, dressed as the Cat in the Hat and helped the Phoenix Suns Read to Achieve program by reading to hundreds of enthusiastic children at the Suns Arena.
PGA Tour golfer and winner of the Phx FBR Open, Jonathan Kaye, along with BookPALS actor Angelica Frost and his wife Jennifer Kaye, attended the Washington School District breakfast and then read to students in the classrooms. Angelica read a rousing version of "Green Eggs and Ham" that brought new meaning to the familiar book. Talk about bringing stories to life!
