Each year, the NEA and BookPALS join forces with schools and other literacy, arts and education organizations to celebrate reading and promote literacy throughout the nation's schools. Here in Minnesota, many BookPALS celebrated in our area schools by passing out special certificates to each of the kids in the classrooms they read in, and presenting a Certificate of Service to those schools who have BookPALS in place, in recognition of their commitment to making literacy a priority. I was able to visit many classrooms, but not all....I think that's a good sign that we have a lot of classrooms with BookPALS!
