Saturday, July 14 2007 @ 10:42 PM EDT

BookPALS gathered at beautiful Riverside Park in Roswell, Georgia on July 14th for our Sixth Annual Summer Appreciation Picnic to thank our BookPALS for their participation during the 2006/2007 school year. A great time was had by all!

Special thanks go out to Dennis and Judy Klein for their endless enthusiasm for BookPALS and their wonderful assistance in coordinating the event!

BookPALS were awarded Appreciation Certificates and given books donated by First Book (on behalf of Simon & Schuster and the U.S. Coast Guard) to give to their children when school resumes in August.

We would like to give special thanks to Highland Plaza Publix in Marietta for donating a beautiful deli platter and Ingles Supermarket in Cleveland for donating soft drinks to our event. Thank you Publix and Ingles for your support of literacy and the BookPALS Program!
