Las Vegas BookPALS have been awarded the Shining Star Award for their contribution to Focus schools in the Clark County School District.
Las Vegas BookPALS has been part of the Focus School Project for ten years. Over the decade it has served tens of thousands of children in over 40 "at-risk" schools. BookPALS received the award at a breakfast at Wynn Hotel and Casino on October 24. We would like to thank all of our BookPALS who have made the program so successful. We are especially appreciative of our iron men and women who have read weekly for most of the last ten years: Warren Hays, Faye Zwerling, Rick Ginn, Jeff Granstrom, and Rose Heeter. Of course we are thankful for all our talented BookPALS who have enhanced the lives of thousands of Clark County's kids.
