BookPALS reader, Kakie Urch, who reads to third graders at Bubbling Wells Elementary School in Desert Hot Springs, got a Christmas surprise from her students.
Students in two classes at Bubbling Wells Elementary, a Title I school in Desert Hot Springs, presented BookPALS reader Kakie Urch with a special gift for the holiday: a framed 8 x 10 photo of the students and their teachers in the playground.
Each student also wrote a personal letter to Kakie, describing what he or she liked most about BookPALS and wishing her a happy holiday.
The letters included colorful decorations done by the students.
After such a wonderful surprise, Kakie couldn't resist visiting the classes with her own holiday surprise the day before holiday break began. The students enjoyed cupcakes and each class now has a Webster's Collegiate Dictionary with online and CD-ROM extras from their BookPALS reader.
