BookPALS Help Celebrate Reading Rainbow Winners

Minnesota BookPALS & StoryLine were invited again to the 14th Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers & Illustrators Awards Celebration, honoring the original creations of Kindergarten through 3rd grade contest participants. The event was hosted by Twin Cities Public Television (TPT) at their studios in St. Paul on May 13, 2008.

The winning stories were read by veteran BookPALS volunteer Michelle Myers Berg (pictured reading "Making Pirogi with Grandma" by Grace Gardner, 3rd grade).

Well-known children's author and Minneapolis resident Lauren Stringer joined in the festivities and autographed some of her books such as Mud, Scarecrow and Winter Is the Warmest Season.

Minnesota StoryLine Coordinator Patty McDonald co-hosted and chatted with some of the young author/illustrators.
